Senior Centers & Clubs

RiseBoro's eight senior centers and clubs provide culturally-rich environments where older adults can engage with peers, make new friends, enjoy hot nutritious meals, keep physically active, explore new interests and give back through volunteer opportunities.

Each center offers a wide variety of physical activities, including Yoga, Zumba, ballroom dance, stretching, Tai Chi, chair aerobics and falls prevention classes for older adults looking to maintain their health. We also provide support in managing chronic health conditions through free screenings, health education workshops and along with nutritious meals; nutrition education and food pantries. The centers give seniors the opportunity to share existing skills and talents while they acquire new ones through a variety of arts, technology, language, and special interest classes.

Case assistance is available at all our centers to offer information and referrals, housing assistance, and benefits enrollment assistance.

Diana H. Jones Innovative Senior Center

In addition to traditional senior center offerings, this center has an enhanced schedule of activities and a robust health and wellness program oriented to both physical and emotional wellness. The center offers evidence-based wellness programming including activities like the nationally recognized Tai Chi class "A Matter of Balance" geared to improving health outcomes. The center also offers bilingual case assistance and case management services in multiple languages including Spanish, Mandarin and Cantonese.

This center unlike our other centers is open on Saturdays.

Transportation Services

Transportation to and from centers are provided on a daily basis to those members who require assistance. These services operate out of 3 centers, the Diana H. Jones Innovative Senior Center, the Ridgewood Bushwick Senior Center and Roundtable Senior Center. Additionally, the center may arrange for transportation to medical appointments, hospitals, and other center activities. This service is available on an as-needed basis.
